We all need to connect to nature – please find somewhere that you can connect and get centered, as we head into fall you will need to feel as grounded as possible to negotiate the changing energies.
One year ago I moved into a new home in a secluded natural oasis shaded by a canopy of trees and surrounded by an irrigation canal which looks like a smooth flowing brook or stream. I didn’t realize that the water surrounded me at first but later I learned that the stream bends at my property line and flows adjacent to the other property border, passes under the road and then makes a 90 degree turn and flows adjacent to a 3rd property border! It’s kind of like I am living in a battery cell. Batteries do what? “Store energy”. So it’s critical that I am aware of my energy at all times so that the energy I am storing is the energy that I want to see manifest in the world around me.
What is even more interesting is that the property has historically been the home of spiritual practice since the early 1800’s when the first church/school/community building was erected in stones quarried from the land. The parsons home was later built and that is where I live today. The landscape surrounding this area is dry brittle desert, but as the road drops down the hillside you enter a lush green riparian area fed by an irrigation canal dug out to route water from oak creek to the farms and pastures below. This is the water that surrounds my home and nurtures the elaborate garden that was planted and tended by the previous occupants. The gardens have many award winning varieties of Iris and Rose as well as fruits and berries.
When I came to this house the first time I had no intention of moving to this area, in fact I had been living in Sedona for 23 years and never once considered moving (except for a few episodes of extended travel in Mexico). So when my friend Maggie (the person who first introduced me to Sedona in 1985) said “I really think you should come and see this house in my neighborhood”, I paused and thought “why not take a drive out to the country and visit with my friend?”
Who would have guessed? When I walked through the front door the view of the back patio was exactly like a vision I recall from a dream I had in 2001. In the dream I had stepped outside onto a concrete patio with a cup of coffee in my hands and there was water flowing directly in front of me.
I became flustered because for years this dream had haunted me in a very good way, the feeling of peace and love that I felt in the dream was so wonderful, I snapped back to the here and now and asked the real estate agent for the papers to fill out immediately, I knew that this was my new home!
Then I began to look around and realized that the home had only 3 rooms, and was about 700 square feet total! I had just left a home that was almost 3 times the size and knew that it would mean downsizing to almost nothing if I were to move here, but I trusted my dream vision.
Over the next few days I had to make tough choices about which furniture I would keep and what I would have to let go of, it was difficult because I had already done that a few years ago and what I had left were only the pieces that I truly treasured. As I was imagining the patio spaces I remembered that I had seen a porch swing hanging from a huge tree over a creek and I loved the idea of doing that at my new home. Surprisingly the next image I saw in my mind was a bamboo papasan chair hanging from a tree. It was kind of puzzling but I immediately recognized the value of being able to snuggle up with my dog and a good book for an afternoon of laziness.
I should point out to you here that I have NEVER been interested in having a papasan chair, quite the contrary. My mother had owned one when I was a young adult and I remember it being such a space hog, we always teased her and said that she had bought “a lemon” when she got that chair.
When I received the call from the realtor to say that I could come and pick up the keys I was ecstatic. I could hardly wait to be living out amongst the trees, lush grass and let my feet dangle in the little creek. My dog Rufus would finally have a big yard to run and play, such a relief after being house guests in a small home and the only place to be outdoors was strictly on-leash.
When we got to the house I dropped everything as soon as we were inside the gate and we made a beeline for the gardens to take inventory of all the pruning, watering, etc. that would be needed to bring it into it’s full glory. To my surprise, at the far end of the yard, behind an overgrown pear tree I came upon a garden shed. And to my even greater surprise, when I opened the door I found inside a papasan chair! It was at this point that I felt a little woozy as I realized that there was something supernatural which had facilitated the entire house hunting experience and that the vision of the papasan chair had been “planted” into my minds eye telepathically by my Spirit Guides! The best way to describe the feeling I had then is: humbled!
This home has brought me many gifts and the nature spirits finally began to reveal themselves to me and guiding me more directly.
There have been many, with most memorable a bobcat/cougar(?) who was walking through the brush just beyond my yard, about 8 feet from where I lay in the hammock. He paused and stared at me, then took a few steps and stared back again, then leapt over the irrigation canal which is about 6′ plus about 2 feet of ground on each side, then turned to see if I was still watching, continued walking and then looked back again a few feet farther down the path. Exhilarating to say the least!
Another time while in the hammock an otter lumbered out of the water found the perfect spot of land and pooped and then slid gracefully back into the water and swam away. Who knew that they were so civilized?
And the big deal of the day was when a golden eagle fledgling landed on a branch just beyond the back porch where I was sitting in my rocking chair. I heard in my head “He is giving you a feather”. All I could see were down feathers and they were floating off in the breeze and into the creek below so I thought little of it. Later when I went out to get the mail, right in front of my gate was a beautiful 4″ golden eagle feather. (illegal to own because they are an endangered species).
And most recently I was drawn to go to a free class at the Unity church about exchanging all the items in your medicine chest with natural alternatives. I assumed it would be about using witch hazel, herbs, etc. but then I heard in my head “this is going to be about vibrational oils and is an MLM (marketing) opportunity”. Since I have no interest in selling oils I just dropped it. Later I had the thought come up again and I heard “You should go, you might learn something new”, so I did. Then they offered a class the following day that would be $150 and you would get a small set of oils and learn how to apply them to the meridians for de-stressing/detoxing/building auto-immune/balancing the autonomic nervous system. That really sang to me so I went, and at the end of the day I realized that the voices that were compelling me to go were the nature spirits! Cool!
So for the last few weeks I’ve been busy working on anyone who shows up for a session or a visit and what is so cool is that as I am applying the oils to their body, I am getting dosed with all the same wonderful benefits through the meridians in my hands and through my olfactory sensors. In short I have been peacefully blissed out daily which allows me to be more consistently attuned to Spirit.
I traveled to California last weekend for a UFO Conference (whole ‘nuther article!) and learned in one of the lectures that there have been studies of the effects of essential oils on the vibrational frequency of individuals and (no surprise to me) they found significant positive changes after only 1 minute of inhaling the essence!
Are you needing some bliss or a peek into what’s coming for you as we head into fall? Call me and let’s do an update session – or book directly at http://www.sedonajeannie.com/book-a-session
Updates are paid by the amount of time so even if you are short on cash we can still take a peek and keep you on track for your highest good!
And if you are in Sedona, I totally recommend that you book a live session because I have been known to break out the essential oils and annoint my house-guests with them :~)
